The ET-2800 features genuine Epson print quality, a high-resolution flatbed scanner, and convenient color display – making it the ideal basic home printer. 1. Actual savings and costs will vary considerably based on print tasks, print volumes and usage conditions. Savings and cost per ISO page are based on the cost of replacement ink bottles and the cost of enough standard cartridges to achieve the total page yields of the bottles using the MSRP (USD) and yields for Epson standard-capacity ink cartridges for similarly featured Epson consumer inkjet printers as of May 2021. 2. Part of the ink from the included bottles is used for initial setup; yields are lower than those of replacement ink bottles. Replacement and included ink bottle yields based on the ISO/IEC 24712 pattern with Epson’s methodology. Actual ink yields will vary considerably for reasons including images printed, print settings, temperature and humidity. Yields may be lower when printing infrequently or predominantly with one ink color. All ink colors are used for printing and printer maintenance, and all colors must be available for printing. 3. Our Verdict
Photo printing is not the highest quality BUT very acceptable. Setup was a piece of cake. Just follow the prompts on the printer's screen, installed the software on my computer, Windows 10, the computer than found the printer without any difficulty. Since the printer uses 2.4 GHz WiFi band, time from sending print job to printer from computer is a bit long, the 5 GHz band would have been better for me since the printer is next to the computer. If you plan to have users a greater distance from the printer the 2.4 GHz band is a good choice. For the price, the cost of the ink, this is a very good printer, much better than the cartridge type printer. Adding ink is a very easy clean and neat process. So far printing is working very well. Added later : 2.4 GHz is annoyingly slow!! Fortunately along the right side there is a USB port that will connect the ET-2800 to a computer. After connecting using the USB port the time to print is MUCH better. Actually makes the printer useful instead of just annoying. Additional update : Windows 11 update creates a large waste of paper using USB connection; multiple reports of printing "GET /eSCL/ScannerStatus HTTP/1.1 Host: localhost" by itself; nothing fixes the problem except using WiFi. Also the 2 year ink claim is wildly optimistic; my home use shows that ink usage is much more like 5 months; although the ink is much cheaper than other printer.
